Miloš Šejn, ONETEMAN 01, site-specific installation, 2025

The ambient sound work ONETEMAN is a site-specific installation composed for the Church of Our Lady Na Náměti in Kutná Hora. It incorporates authentic sonic recordings made while walking the preserved medieval slag heaps in Markovičky near Bylany, and subsequent ambient manipulations of the collected material carried out in the Chapel of Saint Anne, which is located on the eponymous hill near Jičín. The chapel, dating from around 1670, was designed by Jean-Baptiste Mathey. The historical awareness of the site (founding of the Church of Our Lady) is interwoven with physical traces of medieval mining and smelting activity, recalled through a sound composition that draws on the resonant qualities of slag material.
